Hi there! I am an advanced photographic amateur from the USA and I have just spent a little time looking around. I am very impressed with the range of posters and the great diversity in photographs. I am also a recently retired physician (MD).

For many years I used film and Nikon cameras. About 4 years ago I switched to digital photography and haven't looked back since.

I am now at the point that I am ready to purchase a digital SLR since none of the even the most advanced point and shoot give me the control and range that I desire. I particularly enjoy taking pictures of travel, nature, macrophotography, people , low light photography and outdoor scenery of all kinds.

I am looking at both the Pentax 10D and I am also looking forward to taking a look at the Olympus 510. I wonder if this latter camera will be sold in the USA. I have heard that it will not but I have run across some recent articles in the USA stating that it will be released in June of this year. Any comments about choices between these two will be highly appreciated.

I use lightroom and Photoshop CS 2 on a PC but I am planning to switch to an Intel based Apple when I purchase my d SLR a little later this year.
