New to the site

Hello folks!

Greetings from Malaysia. I'm a beginner at photography. I love nature photography and B&W shots.

I do not know much about camera or lense technology. Am currently using a digital point and shoot, which would probably be sacrilege among the serious photographers.

My interest is in the composition of a shot.

Hope to get some advice from this site.

I bet most people on here started with point and shoot cameras, and some still use compacts as well as more advanced cameras, so no need to apologise for what camera you use.

We have a little saying around here...its not the camera that takes the picture, its the person using it, so it doesn't matter to us one bit what type or make of camera you use as long as you are enjoying the photography and sharing your photos with others.

Welcome to Pixalo Leanne, I am sure you will enjoy being part of the Pixalo community, it's great here with a lot of people who love taking pictures. We don't care what you use be it an all-singing all-dancing digital SLR or a pin-hole camera made out of an old shoe box! A good picture is a good picture, no matter what it is taken on.

Looking forward to seeing any shots you have of your homeland or anything else you care to put in your gallery.

Thanks for the encouragement and the comments on my pix. Was a little intimidated at first seeing the quality of photographs posted here.

Don't be intimidated, Leanne. No-one will put you down, and you'll get loads of help to improve what you've done and then take even better pictures.
