Hi All
Found the site yesterday and joined up, have been interested in photograpy for a long time, have a few caamaras, the last one I bought was an S5000 Finepix Fujifilm, its been ok, but had problems with it, went to France a couple of years ok on a fishing trip, stay with some friend on route who had just moved to France, went to take some pictures of their house, I had nothing but lines on the screen, I sent the camara for repair after telephoning them, and was told 60, which I paid, some two weeks later they sent me a pocket camara, I was a bit shocked as mine is more or less a two haned unit, I again telephoned, and would you believe the guy told me they had sent me the correct camara, I nearly flipped mu lid, well he said that is what the repair cost was for, I told him in no uncertain
terms, that is what you asked for, thats what I paid, where is my camara I asked, I will see what I can do, coming back to me he told me he had found my camara in the work shop, repaired, no, was his reply, so cutting the story short, they said they would repair it at the cost quoted, I got it back, but it has never seemed to be right, I still have or have got another problem with it now it appears that the battery saving programme is not working, you can set the time it stays on, I went to a classic car club party on Tuesday, when I switched the camara on it shut down straight away, I increased the time to 5 mins, it stays on for about 20 seconds. So.
On Wednesday I bought a Cannon EOS10D, it was a toss up between this and a Nikon, as money is a bit tight, and I missed a Nikon in the auction, this seemed money wise the best buy for me.
I have a Cannon SLR, with two or three lenses, can any one tell me if there is any chance these would fit the EOS, or are the EOS lenses differant, I do not have the EOS Camara yet due in a couple of days,or my SLR to hand, may have to come back on that.
Can some one sugest where I could send the Finepix camara to for repair rather than send it to Fuji.

Thanks for reading my slight rant.

Welcome to Pixalo Colin

A real tale of woe there! Not a Canon user, but I think that all EOS crop factor bodies use the EF-S mount, so if your earlier ones have this they ought to fit OK. You might not get all of the functionality of the latest lenses though.

I'm sure one of our Canon owners will be along soon to give you the correct information.

There are several repair companies such as Fixation, Camtronics and others that ought to be able to fix the Fuji if the parts are still available. However, it might be worth getting an estimate first as the cost might exceed that of a new camera.
