Hello i'm Peter and I am enjoying your website very much,and I think the standard of pictures you display is very high.I have done a lot of film Photography including developing my own colour and B/W prints but I am fairly new to the Digital side of it.I hope I can contribute something in some way .Peter

Welcome to Pixalo. I also have been a lifetime film user until relatively recently. Once you get the hang of it, it is easier than film, 'cos you can do all of your processing in the light! You can also see what any effect any editing has, and if you don't like it, you can undo it - how bad is that?

Thanks for the welcome everyone I must admit that sitting at my computer in the warm beats slaving away in the darkroom(My shed in the garden) until sometimes midnight in the dark just trying to get a perfect print without an unwanted colourcast.

Welcome Peter, great to have you on board.

I too have used film since 1969 but have been working digitally for the last few years and can't envisage ever returning to film other than for the very occasional slides. I enjoy the flexibility that digital gives me but I still advocate using the camera to get the right picture first and foremost. Adjustments can be made in Photoshop and I do that a lot but I want to hold on to my skills as a manual photographer for as long as possible so that I am always aware and thinking about what I am doing.

Far from everything becoming easier, I have had to learn a whole lot of new skills since going digital but that is a real pleasure and has opened a whole new world to me which I absolutely adore.

I am sure you will enjoy being part of Pixalo, I am a die-hard fan of the place now as it seems a cut above any other forum I have found. A few of the people are a bit mad but.... :o)

Yes this seems a really good site.I have posted some pics in the members gallery yesterday.Let me know what you think about some of these because I am still getting used to my Nikon D200.
