I'm having a revisit to basics, mainly because I don't seem to get sharp pictures for the life of me at the moment.
Poor histogram something I fail to get a grasp of. Not setting the camera up for shutter speeds at least in line with focul length ie:- 400mm 1/400th Just now and again I hit the shot I wanted. So here's one to be going on with.

Looks sharp enough to me!
It's probably the biggest problem I find: shutter speed too slow leading to camera shake (though occasionally it's subject movement, as in wildlife!) |

im with mark it looks sharp to mea s well.... but the sharpness for me is in the wrong place. it looks sharper on the body than face, its hard to say tho as its not a huge image.

Re: One of my little friends, struggling to get a sharp picture at the moment
Looks fine to me. I have a similar problem of too slow shutter speed for focal length sometimes too which often leads to disappointing photos. Unfortunately (don't know if its me or the camera) I cannot really tell from the histogram or lcd that its not good and only find out after I download to the pc or laptop
