I would love to see the clutter (laundry I should have folded already) gone, and whatever else you'd like to do with this pic! Thanks so much!!

Getting Comfy

Very quick go in elements.

Added a "hue/Saturation" adjustment layer.

Wound down the lightness.

Filled the adjustment layer with black.

Drew in the bit I wanted dark using a big hard white brush.

Used guasian blur on the adjustment layer to soften the edges of the mask.

1) Using elements

2) Reversable.

To be honest the head dispears into the background a bit. I think there should have been more light from the sides. I think you can get away with just turning on a few ordinery house lights. If you mix house lights with flash there can be colour issues. However it often works out, the flash usually dominates.

You can start to mess arround with bluring the skin. You could do this if this was a photo shoot for a catalog. However young ladies can be very sesative about their looks. It can be a dificult time for them. You have captured a natral look very well and I suggest you don't play with that too much. You have avoided problems with too much highlight on the forehead and nose. The sholders can be a problem too but the dark clothing has workded very much in you favour.
