OK, duplicated layer & adjusted levels of top layer to get land exposure correct. You would do this from RAW shots for best quality. Converted both layers to Mono via CM at 100% Red. Applied USM to top layer at 30,20,0 to get some bite into land. Masked back sky & water from shot below.

I've done this on the lappy so not best screen to play with shot. I have taken the landscape OTT just to show how far you can take it. For final shot I would recommend going from 2 seperate RAW files & tone down the landscape, but still keep all the detail.

Just wish I got to locations to take such great shots in 1st place
