This picture could be sharper. At 300mm focal length you ought to be using at least 1/500th second, so it is probably camera shake. You have -2EV and are using 1/125. Zero EV and 1/500th will give the same exposure but you should not get the camera shake. A smaller aperture will also give you a greater depth of field so that all of the bird would be in focus too. This will mean either having to reduce the shutter speed - not ideal if you are having difficulty in holding the camera steady, or increasing the ISO. (All of this is assuming that your lens is not stabilised). As you are already using 800 ISO this will probably give you noise issues. To improve on this work on improving your technique in holding the camera steady and using the correct settings.
If you have cropped this image it will exacerbate any faults in the picture.

This is a beautiful bird. Graham really gave you some good advice. I might have messed this all up in photoshop as I love RAw and the adjustments that teach you things you should do without photoshop. DEoes that make sence, welcome to pixalo
