I think this works OK. It certainly captures the 'cutting edge' technology feel. I wonder if a selective colour might be an interesting halfway house?

Love the composition, angle, + the bridge itself. I find the main cloud a bit distracting + competing for attention.

The bridge is ok but the trees are a dead giveaway with the halos and I feel that is the main let down here. Instead of trying to put a different sky on by deleting the entire sky of the main photo, try doing a very rough selection along the top of the tree line, above the trees themselves, and then feather the selection. This will allow the new sky to blend to the old one and the trees won't look so unnatural.
Also,m where you have burnt the sky down, you have left the bits that we can see through the railings and cables of the bridge so you get a very obvious line of darkened cloud above the bridge and then light cloud through the bridge.
These are the things you need to consider carefully when putting new skies on or burning down to give more impact. The idea you have had here is a good one, just needs a bit more attention to the detail when processing and you could have a real winner
