Pros: Sharp, build quality
Cons: High chromatic aberration

Well I've had this lens for awhile now and given it a thorough road test. First thing to note about this lens is the build quality its very well made, the focus and zoom rings are smooth and it feels very solid not plastic at all. An unusual feature of this lens is the AF/MF switch, you pull back the focus ring to activate manual focus and then push forward to go back to auto focus, i'd definately like to see this on more lenses.

The picture quality when using this lens is very high, very crisp and sharp images. The down side is it displays definate chromatic aberration (colour fringing in high contrast areas) which i've noticed in a few of my shots, very easy to rectify if you shoot in RAW as most if not all convertors has lens correction features. I use Adobe camera RAW convertor which can eliminate this problem very easily.

All in all an excellent purchase, i've not tried any of the competion in this category of lens so i cant say if this is the best money can buy, but if you can spend a little time sorting out the chromatic aberration post production then for the price you cant go wrong with this lens.

Pros: solid build, smooth movement, nice and sharp
Cons: none noted so far

Price quoted was converted at todays rate from 599.00 Canadian dollars.

I am using this lens with a Nikon D80.

This is my first experience with a wide angle zoom, and I am really pleased! The lens is very well build, solid, and smooth. It is a pleasure to use.

I've had no major problems with CA so far. It does turn up here and there if I go zooming in looking for it, but nothing that jumps out.

The built in flash on the D80 is useless when shooting wide, but actually ok in a pinch at the longer end in some situations. If you want to shoot in low light, must use an external flash.

Pros: Build quality, Image quality
Cons: None

I bought the Tokina after alot of research on the Sigma 10-20. I read conflicting reports on the Sigma as to its image quality being pot luck. Of the reports I read on the Tokina, there were no concerns with this.

The focusing ring is push pull to select manual or auto, which isnt a problem, with a nice firm clunk when selected. I find it focuses quickly and accurately on my D80. I havent experienced any vagnetting at the low ened even with the Hoya CP filter attached. I have experienced barrel distortion but you would expect this at these focal lengths.

This lens is in my opinion, an excellent lens for the money. I bought mine from UR Galaxy in Hong Kong via ebay with no problems at all. A big saving on the UK price of £350.
