The power of 12x zoom.

High performance optics
A powerful 12x optical zoom lens features Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology to counteract camera shake. An Ultrasonic Motor (USM) ensures fast and near-silent zoom operation*. UD lens technology reduces chromatic aberration for razor-sharp images with superb colour accuracy.

Resolution
A 6.0 Megapixel CCD sensor captures every scene with enough fine detail for large, photo quality prints.

Extensive movie functions
Shoot smooth 30fps VGA quality movies with full audio, or record QVGA movies at 60fps and analyse in sharp slow motion. Make full resolution stills while recording with the Photo in Movie feature.

Cutting-edge technology
Canon's DIGIC II image processor drives rapid 2.3 fps continuous shooting and responsive camera controls. iSAPS technology uses scene information to optimise camera settings before a shot is taken. FlexiZone AF/AE lets you manually select the focus point from almost anywhere in the frame. Super Macro mode allows for millimetre-close focusing on tiny subjects.

Creative shooting
A choice of 20 shooting modes includes Manual mode for complete creative control. 8 Special Scene modes assist with tricky lighting conditions. My Colors allows colour effects to be applied in camera before and after shooting.

Low light performance
ISO 800 allows for flash-free shooting in low light and indoor environments. It also enables shooting at higher shutter speeds, reducing the risk of blur from camera shake and subject movement.

Panoramic photos
Widescreen 16:9 still image recording allows playback on widescreen TV or printing on wide size paper with a SELPHY CP printer.

Large vari-angle LCD
The 2.0" vari-angle LCD lets you frame from creative angles and share playback with friends. Night Display mode enhances screen visibility after dark.

Accessories
A wide range of optional accessories includes wide and tele converter lenses, a lens hood, slave flash and a soft case.

Easy printing
Connect to any PictBridge or Canon Direct Print compatible photo printer and push the Print/Share button for a full colour photo in seconds.

Software and sharing
A comprehensive software suite is included for managing and editing your photos. Share your creations online with 100MB of web space on

Pros: lightweight, accurate, easy to use
Cons: low light noise

Good bridge camera to learn on or take where a dslr would be obtrusive. Swivel mounted lcd allows shots to be had that couldn't be reached otherwise. Also great for candid or street photography even up close since the shutter is silent. While only 6 mega-pixels it provides fairly sharp bright pictures with good color. It doesn't shoot in RAW, but hacked firmware for RAW and many other improvements is readily available and easy to use. (Note from Pixalo: Using hacked firmware will invalidate your guarantee and is done entirely at your own risk). Just copy to the SD card and boot the camera from the card and you have RAW. This firmware makes no changes to the camera firmware and resides on the card. At todays prices (well under $300 closer to 200) , it makes for an in-expensive way to learn creative controll or have a carry along in a coat pocket with up to over 400mm 35mm equivalent with the added bonus of VGA quality video with stereo sound.
