With an active area of 203 x 152 mm, the Intuos3 A5 fits easily on your desktop or in your briefcase - this makes this size the perfect companion for users of notebook computers. The ultimate size for people whose ideas are bigger than their workplaces.
As all Intuos3 pen tablets, the Intuos3 A5 comes with the Intuos3 Grip Pen (including the Stroke and Felt Pen nib), the 5-button Intuos3 Mouse and the ExpressKeys as well as the Touch Strip on both sides of the tablet.
Features & Benefits
• Pressure-sensitivity with 1,024 levels. Create natural-looking pen, brush, and eraser strokes
• Tilt Sensitivity - Tilt your input device in either direction and create natural-looking pen, brush, and eraser strokes
• Tool ID - With Tool ID each Intuos3 input device can be individually programmed and configured for each application. And these functions are automatically activated as soon as the application starts.
• ExpressKeys - The ExpressKeys are a set of buttons located on both sides of the tablet. Assign your favourite keys or macros to these buttons and start to forget your keyboard.
• Touch Strip - The Touch Strip allows you to use your finger directly on the tablet – similar to notebooks' touchpad. Zoom in and out within your image with a single sweep of your finger – and if you prefer to stick to the pen, then use it on the Touch Strip too.
• Absolute Positioning - The edge of a mouse pad won't ever stop you again - Wacom tablets allow absolute positioning in which the active area represents your entire monitor screen.
• Eraser - Get rid of errors by a flip of your pen.
• Cord-/battery-less - No input device needs a cord or battery - the tablet itself supplies the input device with power.
• Plug and Play - Your Intuos3 pen tablet system installs easily and quickly and is compatible with all your software.
• Penabled - The Wacom patented cordless and battery-free pen technology, also known as Penabled, gives you a highly reliable product with very low maintenance requirements. The term Penabled ensures high quality from the world market leader in pen based input solutions.

Well after asking a question here http://www.pixalo.com/community/gene...blet-9403.html and receiving some excellent advice/feedback regarding Graphic Tablets I was very pleased to receive one at Christmas.
I must say I have found it immediately easier to use than I had imagined.
There are plenty of customisable options on the tablet that I have yet to fully explore.

The option to map the working area to whatever I wish to use is very good and as I work with two monitors I can have this mapped to work over both, one or a set working area.....all easily done.

The pen feels comfortable to hold and work with.....again there are options to customise the way it operates.

In CS2 there are endless brush options

An additional (hasty) purchase I made was the airbrush I think the £109 would have been better spent elsewhere but will stick with it as it may well come in handy in the future.
The mouse that came with the tablet I have used very little and doubt I will actually use it over the pen.
Obviously a lot of editing can be done with a normal PC mouse which I have managed to do for a number of years but it now just feels that little more natural and precise using the tablet.
Finally I have no problem fully recommending a graphic tablet........although it is difficult for me to recommend this particular model over the cheaper ones that I believe do the same job just as well but I wouldn't swap the one I have
