Version of the CB24 with a friction control, unusual on a small ball and socket head.
Precision engineered by a small family-run company in Germany, the CB24F is a small and strong ball head with the unusual facility of a friction control. This allows the ball to be braked when a heavy camera is attached.
Also has a large knurled knob which locks both ball and the revolving base.

Pros:
Compact, friction control, good working weight.
Cons:
No rotating pan base.
This is definitely a niche product; it is ideal for a travelling lightweight tripod for people who prefer to use a friction control. I use it with a Culman Magic and it's a perfect fit for the base. I also use it with a Novoflex MR quick release. It's only 35mm across so it is rare to find a friction control in this size. I was introduced to FLM by a friend and have never looked back.
It looks and feels well made and the control knobs are easy to grip and adjust. It has a pretty smooth action but of course you are limited by the size of the ball. For it's size and weight the weight it can support is amazing. It is very happy with a 70-200 2.8 a pro body and convertor and will manage a 300 2.8 but it is struggling slightly, of course it is still better than hand holding.
The only fault is that it doesn't have a rotating base but at this size there are no 3 knob ball heads. If it is big enough for you and you like friction controls then I suspect this is as good as it gets.
