Pros: Size, Lens compatability, Build quality
Cons: ISO 200, No sync socket

I bought this from Jessops who were doing a special, camera and two lenses for £399. It is a rebadged Pentax ist DS2 and takes all the accessories that the Pentax takes inc. lenses. I had a Canon 300d for about 18 months but never really got on with it as it seemed a bit flimsy, so I then decided to go the bridge camera route and bought a Fuji S9500 (which my wife is now using). Never being happy, I wanted another proper SLR so after much homework decided on the Samsung.
This camera feels solid and fits my hands perfectly (I don't have large hands), it has all the controls that are used most, readily available and are very intuitive. The menus are pretty straight forward and there is plenty of options but once set to your liking you rarely need to go in there again. I have picked up a couple of older Pentax manual focus lenses and they work a treat, but I must stress that a split image focusing screen is a lot easier to use than the standard one, I got one off ebay for less than £20 and it was simple to change, this makes manual focusing a breeze.
Picture quality is excellent and as I rarely print larger than A4 is more than adequate, although I have printed to A3 and cannot see any real difference in quality. The down side to this camera is that the ISO starts at 200 and I think 100 would give better results, I also would like to see a flash sync socket as I use an old manual flash off camera for most of my flash photography, I get round this by using an adaptor so no big deal just a little inconvenient.
I would recomend this camera to anyone who is in the market for a quality SLR at a very reasonable price, and who is not swayed by the marketing hype of the bigger names. After all it was pentax who made the first ever SLR with a pentaprism.
