Pros: 600mm 35mm equivalent and sharp, Lightweight
Cons: low light focusing abilities

Good lightweight accurate macro zoom. For a walkaround lens in the forest or on the the lake, at 615 grams it's easy to work with and has enough reach for many birds and wildlife. When you encounter insects or flowers, it acquits itself suprisingly well in macro use. Yes my 50mm prime is much better, but the 70-300 accounts for a lot more of my stuff than one would think. Olympus in body IS allows handheld shots at full zoom easily. It's also a great bargain under $400 these days. I suppose I must say I do like this lens quite a bit.
