Pros: Size, weight, build quality, sharpness, AF speed, PRICE
Cons: None given the price and size

This lens is quite simply stunning. The build is superb and the auto focus is lightning fast. A constant F4 through the whole range makes it very useable and keeps the size and weight much lower than its F2.8 big brother. This lens looks heavier than it is although this doesn't necessarily mean that it is lightweight, but it's much easier to hold and carry than most imagine it to be. This also allows the steadier of people to shoot outside the normal rule of thumb of the minimum shutter speed equals focal distance. I have managed to get good quality results at 200mm F4 1/50 sec handheld when pushed. Pin sharp, great contrast and colour definition plus excellent Bokeh, this lens is highly recommended.

Given its price I would say that it also offers possibly the best value for money of any of the Canon L range of lenses.

Also works well with the 1.4xTeleconvertor giving great zoom range at F5.6 while not having to carry round a lens the size of a rocket launcher

Pros: USM,
Cons:

This is first zoom lens i have bought for motorsport use after i had it recommended to me by 2 photographers. I have not been disappointed in any way. It is truely a fantastic lens and perfect for motorsport shots, fast AF, superb quality and light enough for easy panning etc! Great value for money.

I would recommended this lens to anyone.

I may soon get a 1.4x or 2x Teleconvertor for this instead of geting a 'longer' zoom lens

Pros: Price, optical quality
Cons: None

Having seen Steve's shots with this lens, I knew it had to be part of the kit.

Results are sharp, punchy & smooth colour tones. The IS version was nearly double the price & would inevitably have been heavier. Having reasonably steady hands I have found no need for the IS, so have saved a few £'s

At the price, this has to be the best bargain L lens out there (especially after cashback).
