Description:
|
Incorporating Canon's second generation Image Stabilization technology, this telephoto zoom responds in as little at 0.5 seconds, while providing up to three stops of correction for camera shake. Its AF system has been refined for better response time and tracking speed. And even the new 8-blade circular aperture offers a more pleasing out-of-focus image. Constructed to pro standards, this fast zoom is also highly resistant to dust and moisture.
Key Features
* L-type telephoto zoom lens with image stabilizer
* Four UD lenses provide compensation for chromatic aberration
* Highly dust and moisture resistant Inner focusing design plus ring USM for silent, high-speed AF

Pros:

Image Quality. Build. Of course IS

|
Cons:
|
not as sharp at wide aperatures as I would have hoped - still very good though.

Very versatile beast. Heavy as you would imagine, and with the lens hood on quite bulky, but its a 200MM F2.8 so its obviously stacked with glass!
Great for portraits, even abstract landscape work. lovely colour and IS is just the business. Shoot 200mm @ 1/30! its crazy!
Expensive, but worth it. Far better image quality than the 100-400 in my experiance

My first long lens and I must say I'm very impressed with the build & IQ.......both superb.
I was a little worried about the weight before I made the purchase but I must say I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it balances on a 1DMKII and I have carried it for several hours without any real discomfort.
Fast AF giving lovely contrasty images.......I just don't why it took me so long to get my wallet out and purchase this lens
