This on a 5D is like a 50mm on a 1.6X body. Its silky smooth, nice feeling. a real gem!. Obviously if I had the cash I would rather have the daddy F1.2 (which is absolutely stunning) but this performs very well for the bunse. A gem..

Bought from Busterboy in January 2006 - an absolute bargain boxed and in perfect condition.
This lens is very sharp. Its built like a tank and has weight to match. Also very quick to focus, while being near silent in operation.
Uses USM so allows for full time manual focusing without having to switch, perfect for focusing on non-centre subjects.
Wide open gives great results and really impressed by the bokeh, also brilliant addition to the 50mm f1.8 as a low light lens with a bit more reach.
Probably my favourite lens so in all honesty I find it difficult to find any faults.

I got this lens for shooting basketball, it has fulfulled its porpose amazingly. The only point is at 1.8 it is useable but it is soft. When you by a 1.8 lens you exspect to be able to use it at 1.8 aw well

Very well built lens, that compares well to Nikon lenses I have been used to.
Sharp images with good contrast. Wonderful f/1.8 allowing you to shoot in low light with no problems.
Great partner to the 50mm f/1.8.
If you had the time, it would be great to shoot with just primes, when you see the results from lenses like this.
